The office team are responsible for the day to day running of the Charity and are involved in a myriad of organisational detail including fundraising, planning corporate functions, keeping our supporters up to date with the latest aircraft news through social media, the website and email, signing up new supporters, and commissioning and managing merchandise for sale at Air Shows around the country.  The team is currently nine strong, but only three of those are full time with the rest working various different part-time schedules.

Directors

JOCK ALEXANDER, CEO

Jock Alexander spent over 38 years in the Royal Navy, initially as a Seaman Officer and Ship’s Diver before gaining his pilot’s Wings in 1984 and spending the next 32 years in the Fleet Air Arm.

His aviation posts included the Helicopter Warfare Instructor on 819 NAS, the Senior Pilot of 820 NAS, the Commanding Officer of 819 NAS, the Staff Operations and Warfare Officer for FOMA, Commander Air of HMS Illustrious, the Staff Aviation Officer for FONA, Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff Carrier Strike, the 1st Sea Lord’s Aviation Advisor and Commanding Officer RNAS Yeovilton (his last appointment as a Commodore).  He also commanded HMS Kellington in the Fishery protection Role and, as a Captain, a Joint UK/US Training Team in Basra Province, Iraq.  He took up his current post as Chief Executive of the FNHT on 29 Feb 2016 after retiring from the RN.

SUE EAGLES, COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR

Sue joined the FNHT in 2010 after spending over 30 years as a strategic marketing and communications specialist working with the Royal Navy and particularly the Fleet Air Arm.


GERRY HUNT, FINANCE DIRECTOR

Gerry joined FNHT as Finance Director and Business Planner in 2014. He left the Royal Navy as a Captain in 2004 after a career spanning 39 years, mostly in the Fleet Air Arm.
In the front line Gerry served in 820 Squadron (as CO in 1983-1984); in 817 Squadron in Australia and as Flight Commander in HMS Glamorgan during the Falklands War. In his late career he was Development Director at the Northwood Headquarters leading the project to redevelop the site and to bring in a private sector provider to run it. Post RN, Gerry was for 7 years Bursar at Woldingham School in Surrey.
